Hi!

Today I am incredibly pleased to post the entry for Faye & Jonathan's luxurious day at the breathtaking Hazelwood Castle. Faye and Jon have given us some incredible feedback so far, they were over the moon with their videos and we were so pleased to hear it.

The day began at Hazelwood Castle, a beautiful and unique building nestled in a cosy corner of West Yorkshire near the historic town of Tadcaster. The momentum of the day began early, with a bustling bridal party getting ready in full swing for the day's events (with matching gowns!) and all the boys down in the drawing room getting dressed and looking sharp. We were delighted to be working alongside the (in)famous Chris Chambers, whose photos are of the highest calibre. With everyone in good spirits, we all raced to Bolton Percy, unbeknownst we were in store for an incredibly emotional ceremony from Faye and Jon. Even the reading from Faye's mum had the first three rows in tears! As Faye arrived, we captured some amazingly candid shots of Faye' father and her Bridal Party walking the blushing Bride to the church - some of my favourite cips of the whole day!

After the ceremony, we all had some fun with confetti and welcomed the new Mr & Mrs Daniels to the world! Back at Hazelwood, everybody headed outside for photos and drinks in the summer sun, and some had an extra swig of dutch courage to prepare them for the imminent speeches. The speeches were a huge success, especially the slideshow from the Best Man which gave a rich history (along with some embarrassing photos) regarding the Groom Jon!

The cake was like no other, cut with a sword (a real sword, in a real castle!) and a Kodaline fuelled first dance had the emotions running high - paving the way for a night to remember! The night was finished off with a mega firework display, the perfect finish to such a grand and elegant day which we were thrilled to be a part of.

Take a look at the Highlights Film below to see our cut of the day.

Faye and Jon really did give us some amazing feedback, and we'd like to share it with you below.

I'll start at the beginning...we had dreamt of having a videographer at our wedding to capture our special day but decided pretty early on that it was an unnecessary expense and that we couldn't really afford to book another supplier. We left the door open a crack in case we could find the funds to book a videographer and, after months of deliberation, we found and contacted Tom at Midgley Wedding Cinematography ...  I was unsure for weeks whether we'd made the right decision but, since the day we met Tom, I have been nothing but overwhelmed by his professionalism and skill. He was polite, kind hearted, seemed to care genuinely about us as people and clients, and has an innate passion and flare for what he does.
On the wedding day, Tom and Lee were a delight to work with and helped us to feel special, looked after, and generally on top of the world! Capturing the video footage didn't take away for a second from our special day and I can't put into words what a fantastic investment the cinematography was. Now that the dust has settled, we're settling into married life, and the intricate memories of our day have faded surprisingly quickly, our wedding video helps to bring those memories flooding back. We have watched the feature film about 50 times and clap, cheer, and cry every time! We have loved every second of showing it to friends and family and I wish I could describe just how beautifully put together it is. Tom and Lee captured every part of our special day and have worked it into the most stunning product that is a beautiful work of art. We are grateful to have also had an outstanding photographer on board for the wedding but still photographs can only say so much. To hear our speeches back, listen to our vows and the sincerity with which they were said, listen to the music we chose, hear the church readings again, see moments on film that we didn't even get to see ourselves on the day, and so much more that is caught on film is just priceless.
It is ironic that Tom was the last supplier that we booked and has turned out to be single handedly the best investment of our wedding. Tom advertises as 'cinematography' rather than videography and, in our opinion, it is exactly that. It is different to, more emotive than, and more beautifully crafted than standard videography and our feature and highlights films have been cut with flare, care, passion, and skill. We can't thank Tom and Lee enough for their brilliant work that will help us to remember our special day forever. In the words of John Cooper, 'time goes by faster than you can imagine' and we are so SO glad we made the difficult decision to capture it on video.

Faye and Jon; thank you so much for having us, we cant thank you enough for the opportunity to capture your special day.

Until next time!

Tom

Hello Again!

We're back! And this entry takes us to idyllic Wentworth in South Yorkshire, where we were honoured to be a part of Amy & Brett's special day. We just want to first of all say a huge thank you to them both for having us, and we really enjoyed ourselves and it was a great day, a huge success and we wish the best for Amy, Brett and little Jacob! It was great being part of our first Winter Wedding, and with Christmas soon approaching; we couldn't help but feel festive.

Beginning the day with preparations at Whitley Hall, Amy and the bridal party prepared for the trip to the Ceremony at the stunning Wentworth Church on the frosty December morning. We were treated with a beautiful performance from the local School Choir and a reading from Captain Corelli's Mandolin during the ceremony, and afterwards we took a walk down to the old picturesque chapel outside to the capture the newlyweds with the photographer Mark. Moving onto Whitley Hall, the guests settled in the cosy warmth and relaxed with a glass of something strong, while Brett, Tom (The Best Man) and Rob (Father of the Bride) prepared for their speeches.

Later on everybody let loose to the sounds of Motown and celebrated Amy and Brett's achievement while revelling in the Christmas Spirit. It was such a brilliant way to end the year and we can't wait to begin 2017!

Below is the official Highlights Video, please feel free to share and we hope you enjoy our latest piece! All photographs on this entry are compliments of the wonderful Mark Tierney.

Here are some very kind words we received from Amy and Brett about thier experience with us before booking, our performance on the day and the finished film.

"We can not recommend Midgley Wedding Cinematography highly enough. They filmed our wedding on Saturday 10th December and within a few weeks sent us an astoundingly beautiful wedding video for us to share with friends and family. It has become one of our most cherished elements from our wedding and we are so happy that we chose Midgley Wedding Cinematography.
We spoke with Tom by phone, email and were able to meet him prior to the wedding to discuss what we wanted. Once we chatted with Tom, it didn't take us long to decide he was the right person. Tom and his colleague didn't disappoint. They were both friendly, approachable and professional. Despite booking very close to the wedding, Tom created a thorough itinerary- starting at 7.30am and finishing at 9pm! They always had great passion and enthusiasm, going to great effort to ensure there were plenty of video opportunities during the day and they made being filmed feel relaxed and enjoyable. They captured natural footage of us, family and friends as they were discrete and unobtrusive.
We are thrilled with the high quality of our wedding video. It was beautifully filmed and edited, with everything we were hoping for and more. We have already replayed it many, many times to relive the memory of our special day. Tom not only captured the important moments of our wedding day but edited them and pieced them together in an artistic and skilful way. I believe this is what sets Tom apart from other wedding videographers. Our families and friends were equally moved by the video and it is something we will always treasure. Positively, a common response from family members was, "I wish we'd had a wedding video!" I am so grateful that we chose Tom and would encourage others to do so as well.
Amy & Brett, Mr and Mrs Longley."

All these brilliant photographs were taken by the very talented Mark Tierney of Tierney Photography and you can find his website here! We can't wait to see what 2017 brings, and are booked in to exhibit at the Wedding Affair at  the York Marriott and Ripon Cathedral!

Until next time!

Hello everyone!

This is the first entry into our 'Work & Testimony' section of our website. Please disregard the date noted to the left below the title stating '2017' as this is our new Blog Page! The main aim of these entries is to provide a short recap and blog of our featured weddings, to hear some words from our couples and to exhibit some beautiful video alongside some fun information about the big day. We were lucky enough to debut our filming here at Midgley Wedding Cinematography with an amazing couple: Martin and Bryony. We really want to take a moment to thank them, they have really helped shape the conception of this venture and we will always remember them for their continued support, warmth and generosity.

We started the day with preparations at Quebecs Hotel & Apartments in Leeds City Centre, a beautiful ceremony in Morley Town Hall - shortly followed by a momentous Reception at Thwaites Water Mill in Leeds. The whole day was brilliantly quirky and as the sun beamed down, everyone had an amazing time! We feel honoured to be premiering Midgley Wedding Cinematography with such a unique wedding, which we will remember throughout our careers. The wedding had the whole package and more: from brass bands, human pyramids, giant tee-pees to vintage buses!

We could really go on all day about how warm and hospitable Martin and Bryony were with us, and for making capturing the day such a joy (such naturals in front of a camera!), however, we're not the kind of guys who like to blow their own trumpet - so we're going to let the happy couple do it for us! Here are a few words from Martin and Bryony.

"Thank you both so much for the absolutely amazing video that you made of our wedding day – we could not be more pleased it with, it truly is brilliant ... When we saw the video you created for us, we could not have been more pleased or more relieved that you had been there with us – to have the opportunity to see things we missed on the day, to relive all the bits which went by so fast they felt like a blur, and to have a lasting memory of all of our friends and family on the most special day of our lives, is absolutely priceless to us.  And the way you have edited it together in such a beautiful way means that every time we watch it, we are immediately taken back to feeling all the emotions we had on the day.

You were both an absolutely pleasure to work with too ... as soon as we met you we felt instantly comfortable; neither of us are fond of the limelight, but you put us completely at ease and thank you for being so super accommodating and going out of your way to blend into the day. We cannot wait to share the finished product with our friends and family, who we are sure will love it as much as we do.  All that is left for us to say is thank you again – we are eternally grateful, and we will not hesitate recommend you to friends and family in the future!

Martin & Bryony, Mr and Mrs Bamford.

Nawww, thanks guys! Bryony and Martin even sent us a lovely thank you card, a very kind gift and this rather cool memento of the big day - a huge newspaper with all the beautiful images taken on the day! Such a cool idea and keepsake for family and friends (I think i'll steal this idea for my own wedding!).
